I too have a question in regards to speed. I am looking into purchasing WavePad but was curious about the abilities for converting some poorly copied audio files I have. They are audiobook files that were copied from tapes that no longer exist and are no longer available. The copy was unfortunately done at high speed and so they sound like Mickey Mouse on speed. Is there a way with WavePad to adjust to a normal speed and then save as an MP3 file?

The pitch/speed filters do their best to maintain a quality output, but nonetheless there will be some audio distortion as you start to reach the limits of the filters.

Yes you can do this by using the pitch/speed filters in WavePad, but because the recordings were made at high-speed, is inherently already some losses in the audio file.
