Router configuration for SpeedTouch 780

manifest

Recommended Posts

Hello, I have a new wireless router, Tompson's SpeedTouch 780 and have not been able to use my express talk with it. I've tried everything I could find, but nothing makes a difference, I get the message. 'call attempt timed out, the server is not replying'

When I activate Express Talk, it does show I'm registered, but when I go to make a call I get the above message. Is I use a web based voip service like Skype or Voipstunt or Gizmo Project, they all work fine.

So, its something to do with the Express talk software configuartion that is not letting my calls through the router. I've tried diabling the firewall on the rounter, and using UPNP and changing ports as well as listing Express talk as OK in approved programs. still no luck.

I use Express talk's phone recording in my work and would love to get this working again.

Thanks for any help anyone can give.

It is possible that the router is blocking all SIP traffic through it. Since the only thing that has changed in the router, it is more likely your router configuration that is causing the problem and not Express Talk. I suggest you contact the manufacturer of the router / their support group. If the other softphones do work then it must be your Express Talk configuration in which case it could be something like the port numbers used.

Since the only thing that has changed in the router, it is more likely your router configuration that is causing the problem and not Express Talk. Can you test other SIP based soft phones such as X-lite and see if they work? If not, it is definitely a router issue, and I suggest you contact the manufacturer of the router / their support group. If the other softphones do work then it must be your Express Talk configuration in which case it could be something like the port numbers used.

Thanks for the message, I'm hoping someone might have the same router and know how to configure it.
