Large .wav files do not open correctly

I have several large .wav files from 20mb to 100+mb. When I open them with wavepad I can only use the first 45min of the file. The rest is a strange sound?? The files were recorded with my digital voice recorder, and will play ok in winamp and windows media player.

do you by chance know what codec you used to encode the .wav files with? We have received some reports of similar problems, but thus far cannot reproduce it. I myself have loaded audio files up to 4.5 hours length in wavepad with no problems (aside from it taking a while, but thats a CPU issue not a wavepad issue).
