Splitting audio Files

Just upgraded to 17.63.  In my previous version of Wavepad I could segregate my audio file into separate tracks and Wavepad would default to the original 'saved file' location on my network.  In 17.63 Wavepad will only remember the 'saved file' location once (after i open the audio file) and then does not default to my original 'saved file' location.  I've noticed in this version when i split a track, the original audio file isn't saved in a tab in Wavepad.  Any ideas?  Having to navigate to the original default file location adds time.
