not playing on Real

Hey all:

I'm not sure the reason, but I go into Real and select 17 songs to burn onto a CD

then I bring each file into wavepad and edit the beginning and end to get rid of long starts or ends cause I just want the 'meat' of the song.

then I save and bring them back into Real

when I play them on Real they are fine and with my edits

when I burn a CD, usually the first one or two play, the second blends with the third, not recognizing a break, and then no more songs are recognized.

Do I have to do some special settings to the beginning and/or end of the files I alter?

Any other suggestions? Thanks and best of luck to all!
