Amplify works differently in 'batch' mode

I am trying to Amplify several OGG files and downloaded Wavepad as I knew it had a Batch mode.

 

I tried one file at a time and found that 150% was what I needed.

 

But when I did this in Batch (even to just one file) 150% made hardly any difference.

 

After several experiments, I found that to get the same volume increase as 150% in normal mode, I need to use 300% in Batch mode.

 

Is this is known problem, or am I using Batch mode incorrectly.
