EdmundD
Can Wavepad identify the tempo or beats per minute of a piece of music e.g. whether it is 100 bpm or 120 bpm?
RVM
WavePad has a built in metronome which will tick along at the certain tempo and time signature specified. You can quickly switch the metronome on/off by clicking the metronome button in the toolbar. When the metronome is on, the beat sound is only played through the speaker, it does not impact the file being recorded. However, a microphone may pick up the metronome sound coming through speakers if you are not using headphones.
EdmundD
Thank you. I can't locate the metronome button. Could you be more specific about where I can find it, please?
EdmundD
My question was to find out if I am playing say a prerecorded music wav file can WavePad identify the bpm? It seems not.
RVM
Click the Control tab then Record ten Turn off/on Metronome. That is correct it will not detect the beat, Instead you can assign the beat. Please feel free to file your suggestion at http://www.nch.com.au/suggestions/index.html. That's the easiest way to ensure that your idea is evaluated for possible inclusion in a future release.
