Richard76
Hello to all, is there any way to normalize LUFS level of the video exported by Videopad ? Or does NCH have a tool able to easily normalize LUFS level of a video ?
borate
While VP's normalization doesn't refer to LUFS, it's worth a try. Right-click the audio track to see that option. Files can be normalized when imported. Look under OPTIONS | MEDIA tab and enable the feature.
Richard76
The normalization automatically applied to an audio file in VP, does not sound as a simple peak normalization, but rather like a loudness normalization because the overall file sounds as if it had more volume. Maybe some effects are applied like compression as well. Can you tell what kind of normalization is applied ? And what Peak normalization would be best according to you, to apply to the file before importing in VP ?
borate
Don't quote me the 'auto' option applying peak normalization, but it's a reasonable assumption. From the VP FAQ... Normalize To 'normalize' is to adjust the volume so that the loudest peak is equal to (or a percentage of) the maximum signal that can be used in digital audio. Usually you normalize files to 100% as the last stage in production to make it the loudest possible without distortion. Another reason to normalize is to have multiple tracks sound equally loud, or to have equal average loudness. The 'Peak' normalization method finds the sample of the greatest magnitude within the file. Normalization is then done with this value as the peak. With the Normalize Peak Level set to 100% (0dB), the whole file will be amplified so that the peak reaches 0dB. -0-0- For more insight query the company... https://tinyurl.com/r89tpcw Here's a related read... https://emastered.com/blog/lufs-vs-db
