rsi77
How do one best prepare a voice file for GSM format? I have some voice files to be transferred to an answering system. They sound great in wave format 16bit and 44.1k, but when I convert them to GSM 6.10 they don't sound good at all. There seems to be a lot of distortion in the file. Is there anything I need to be aware of before converting the files? Thanks, Ron
nchtj
it sounds like you are doing the right thing there. check you are converting from PCM wave format (i.e. using the PCM codec for your original file). Also as an experiment, try converting to GSM 6.10 with a higher sample rate and see if the files sound different.
