sharon cheng
Hi All, I have videos with many filler words like 'um', I wonder if VideoPad have a way to delete them in a automatic way -- meaning without cutting them out one by one manually. Thank you in advance! Regards, Sharon
borate
There's no way to isolate the words automatically, but you can split-out the "umms" and then apply the AMPLIFY effect at zero gain to all at once. Play the timeline and press the L key at the start and end of each word to be deleted. If you make a mistake, press <ctrl-Z> to backtrack step-by-step. When all have been isolated, expand the timeline with the slider at the bottom-right to better see the individual clips. Select all the "umms" that you isolated by holding down the <ctrl> key while clicking each. Right-click the FX icon in any one of those selected audio track clips, choose the AMPLIFY effect. Set the slider at zero, then click the "replace chain' button. All selected clips will be muted. Video will be unchanged.
sharon cheng
This means I need to isolate the Ums one by one, right? It is pretty hard doing that. How about using Descript? Any experience? Regards, Sharon
borate
No experience with Descript, but it sounds interesting. It's free for the first 3 hours of AI transcribed audio/video. FIND | REPLACE, if available, might do the job. That said, it's not difficult to split in Videopad with the L key. Just play, and when it comes to an "ummm", back up a bit and L. At the end of the "umm" L again. Drop by with your findings.
sharon cheng
@borate Tried for one video and it worked fine! My video only recorded screens. I am going to try more. So excited! Regards, Sharon
borate
What did you try - Descript or the L method in VP? Glad it looks promising.
