"open file" error

I opened a 40 MB mp3 file, copied and saved the first 2 min 55 sec of it in a 2.6 mb file with a different name, mp3 format. After that Wavepad fails to open the 40 MB file, and opens my saved small 2.6 MB portion of it, in spite of clicking the name of the 40 MB file in the "Open File" dialog. If I click the name of the small 2.6 MB file, it opens it. So the same 2.6 MB file is opened regardless of whether I click the name of the 40 MB file, or that of the 2.6 MB file. I tried 10 times (for curiosity), uninstalled, reinstalled Wavepad, moved the 40 MB file to a different folder, renamed it, converted it to a different quality mp3 format, nothing helped.

Try to delete the folder "C:\Documents and Settings\Ngoc\Application Data\NCH Swift Sound\WavePad\Current" to see if it helps.
