MSRS MP3 recording

Hi All

I am a newbie to NCH MSRS whom I am willing to use on a voice recording project. I am going around the downloadable free 2 channel version. Some questions;

1. I have set the options/file to mp3 (mix-down) stereo 192kbps but still the recorded files are wav and 2 mono marked 0 & 1 files. Can the MSRS actually record in mp3 and stereo? WAV files are too large for our purpose.
