Express Scribe Software

I am having trouble transcribing because of problems hearing the dictation which is send to me via MP3 by e-mail.  I have used the software for about two years or so and this problem  has only arisen in the last couple of weeks.  I have downloaded the Special Audio processed for background noise and enhanced volume but they don't seem to have improved the software.  

Any suggestions anyone.  I am not particularly savvy about these things so a response in a form suitable for a "dummy" would be appreciated.
