emailing files using Internal SMTP - my settings

I am a new purchaser of Palm Dictate (academic version, I am a professor at Emory University)

 

The directions in the manual, I believe, are slightly mixed about the settings to try if things are not working instantly. The ones under the trouble-shooting section of the manual are what I tried...BUT WITHOUT success for

 

Gmail

.mac mail

 

I was able to get the following settings to work using my Yahoo account (please note that I have an upgraded yahoo mail account, so it way not work for free Yahoo accounts).

 

SMTP host

smtp.mail.yahoo.com:username:password

Reply email

username@yahoo.com

 

I am posting this in case it is of help to anyone else.

 

Finally, I'd love to actually use my gmail account to send dictations, but inspite of trying every setting I could, I was unable to get this to work.
