Debut screen is black

I just purchased the license for Debut Video Capture Version 3.07.

 

Each and every time I launch the application and I click the webcam button to try and record, it flashes the video of me sitting in front of the webcam for just a second or two and then the screen goes completely black. If I double-click in the black area of the screen, it tries to connect to the webcam again and then it shows my picture again for just a second or two and goes black again.

 

I had used the trial version of Debut for a long time and never had this problem and now that I paid for the licensed version, it won't even launch.

This can occur if one of your other software programs uses the camera, please make sure to close those applications if any and follow the steps below to restore the camera connection:

1. Click the Options button on the toolbar

2. On the Devices tab, select the video device from the drop down list

3. Click OK to save your settings
