thesockmonster2
I noticed that there are two download links, one that downloads "vpsetup.exe" and another that downloads "vppsetup.exe". When I first installed it I used the "vpsetup.exe" and it said that my trial had expired when I tried to export something for a 3rd time. I then uninstalled that and installed the "vppsetup.exe" and that says it is for non commercial use. What are the differences between the two, what are the limitations on either and will the non commercial one expire?
borate
Yes, confusing. At http://NCHsoftware.com/videopad there are at least four links to http://www.nchsoftwa...ad/vppsetup.exe. On that home page there is no mention of either "trial" or "free" as in the past. When I first tested the non-purchased 3.58 I saw that EXPORT to any file type was blocked, as opposed to earlier incarnations that were fully capable for 30 days, then restricted to three EXPORT types. Also, there no longer was a provision to revert to a crippled yet usable version at the end of the trial period. (That was done via Windows Programs and Features|VP|uninstall.) Hopefully, the total restriction on exports will be removed, and a trial again offered. Ideally, it should clearly state that it's a trial, and outline specific limitations as contrasted to the purchased version. To my recollection, VP has never been freeware.
