johnharnish
How can I suppress, or at least significantly minimize, metadata when exporting to mp3 format? Players on certain voice-over pay-to-play sites, for example Voices.com, will not play an audition clip if metadata is in the recording.
Guest Alex Chapman
Hi John, By metadata I assume you mean ID3 tags? You can see what tags your mp3 has through the menu Edit > 'Edit Audio Tags...'. When saving to mp3 some of these tags will be saved in the ID3v1 section at the end of the file, and all of them will be saved as ID3v2 tags at the start of the file. The most recent versions of WavePad have been changed to not write empty ID3v2 tags, so this should go some way towards fixing the problem. They will still write empty ID3v1 tags at the end of the file, though these only add up to 128 bytes so don't represent much overhead.
