help please email OSX gmail

i have downloaded the free version of express invoice and have configured the email settings as advised with port 465 for gmail (smtp.gmail.com:465) and each time i test it it comes up with mail server not responding. my gmail account works fine using mail. i have clicked on server requires authentication, put in my details, using secure connection and return account.

 

any one can help?
