autoedge foot pedal not detected

My computer will not detect the auto edge foot pedal. Anyone have a fix for this issue?

This is the fix I got from NCH tech... I'm on a Mac, but maybe it'll work on a PC.

Try the following:

Uninstall the version you currently have on your PC

Then restart the computer

Download the software again at

http://www.nch.com.au/scribe/index.html

Then re-enter in the ID Key information

This worked for me for a while, but before long, the foot pedal started dropping in and out again, and now the software can't find it at all. I have an approved foot pedal, the Alto Edge Infinity, and I've bought the "professional" version of the software, but the foot pedal installation wizard can never find the pedal, no matter whether I swap ports or reinstall the software. This programme seems to get worse with every upgrade...
