Cannot fade in and fade out music on the timeline audio track

Downloaded the free version Videopad a couple of days ago.

Cannot manage the fading in audio file which is already put on the timeline. My need: the music (or other audio effect should gradually grow in volum from nil to normal background for the video clips, and in the end accordingly fade away in volume (to nil).

I operated in the upper window with the waweform using the yellow horisontal line, making adjustments for the above purpose. But the audio output comes in normal volume form the start - i.e. no fading in was there, nro fadin out in the end.

Would be glad to have your kind help in this matter.
