Express Scribe won't Transcribe.

I am an experienced computer user but brand new to voice recognition. I have some audio files, a lecture, I want to transcribe on my Win7 laptop.

 

1. I downloaded the free Express Scribe and installed it.

2. I started Win7 Voice Recognition and turned on Listen.

3. I started Express Scribe and loaded an audio file.

4. I set the Voice Recognition tab in Options to Win7 VR and Default Profile.

5. I played the file.

6. I understand when the audio is done, Express Scribe will convert spech to text and put in the Notes box.

7. It's been hours and nothing has appeared. (I did other things).

8. Did I do something wrong?

9. Is this the right place to ask these questions?
