OGM hierarchy

My client wants an employee directory option in the initial OGM. I cannot get the directory file/OGM/box to send callers to correct voicemail boxes. If I understand correctly, this is what is needed. Initial OGM sends caller to directory listing which I have set up as a voicemail box("press 1# for a directory of employees"). Once the caller is hearing the listing, the caller should be able to press appropiate box number ("press 12# for John Doe") The directory file/mailbox does not allow caller to transfer to correct box as IVM thinks the caller is already in the correct box ("press 1 to record"..etc)
