multi trck recording

Hi ,, i am a novice with a pc, dont get me wrong i can just about get myself around. OK i have a "line 6" guitar amp wich has two output jacks wich they call the RCA OUTPUT. I have a cable wich plugs into the RCA inputs and at the other end i have a male sterio plug wich i can plug into my mic input on my laptop. OK. Now the problem is,when ever i record using the multytrack recording system then when i play back the recording it is a loud blur sound .,The mix pad instructions dont give me any info on my problem, if you could point me in the rite direction i would very gratefull. As i said i am a beginer with a pc and a novice at using recording equipment,so if you could explain in laymans terms i would be more greatfull .,,, All the best Gazzappa
