sindi
Windows 98 Lite (installation with minimal files). Talksetup.exe downloaded to c:\temp from NCH site. "Setup cannot find the file 'c:\windows\temp\n1s.exe' (or one of its components). Make sure the path and file name are correct.... I later found version 1.03 at some VOIP provider which did install. Audio wizard - mike works, no sound in headphones. Crystal CS423X works in Windows and if I dial a number I hear it ring, and SEE the call being answered (the little boxes turn green for a few seconds as the announcement plays) but I cannot hear any sound. X-Lite and SJphone for Windows 98 have identical problems. Is there a fix? Thinkpad 560X 233Mhz 96MB memory. Volume dial turned up, also software volume control. I think I also got no sound on a Compaq Armada also 233MHz (using the version downloaded from NCH). Works fine in Windows 2000 but not on an 800MB IDE flash drive. Hoping for a linux version of my favorite softphone.
