Empty (nearly) DVD

Using DVD+R from Maxcell, XP on an HP, trying to record two mp4 files which together are somewhat less than the allowed room (1:45 vs 2 hours). Both with the demo and with the paid version after waiting forever with lots of processor activity I finally get a burned DVD with two folders (Audio_ts and Video_ts) that are EMPTY!!!!! The paid version does more things and takes longer but the result is the same. So far I've wasted three DVD's.

Now what?
