Automation issue

Hi,

We downloaded your evaulation version of Switch for converting our MSV files to MP3, with user interface and command line its working fine but I have a question, we want to completely automate the conversion process but when the calling application invoke switch from command line it works in Asynch mode and in that case the calling application is not able to know when the conversion process completed or failed, I want to know if there is a way by which either it works in Sync mode with the calling application or if it fires a event which can be trapped by the calling application so that we can completely automate our conversion process ?

Thanks and regards

Alind

Well we have looked at this issue at length, and its difficult to solve. The Windows operating system was never designed for applications like Switch which has both GUI and command line aspects to it, and as such we do not know yet how to block the command line when running Switch conversions. A command-line only program does not have this problem, but since Switch is hybrid software it does.

We are determined to come to some sort of solution that can make things easier for other developers, so all we can say is to bear with us while we examine the issue. If you have suggestions to help us out in this sort of thing, feel free to pass then on to tj[at]nch.com.au

Have we come up with a solution?

Thanks,
