Outbound Calls & Answering Machines

I make outbound calls with IVM. The IVM system does not wait for the tone on the answering machine. When an answering machine answers the phone, the system waits 7 seconds after initially answering the call and then leaves the outbound message. Therefore, the beginning part of my outbound message is cut off.
