can't rip CD to WAV

I'm new to WavePad, and just messing around with it initially, I can't seem to create a WAV file from CD playback on my computer. Nothing gets recorded. I have the Record Device and Playback Device set on SoundMAX Digital Audio, and the CD player selected under Record Device, but there seems to be no signal being recognized by WavePad when I play a CD with itunes or Windows Media Player. What am I doing wrong?

If you want WavePad to record the file which is played by Windows Media Player, you need to select "Wav Out Mix" not "CD Player". Alternatively, I would suggest you to use Switch Audio Converter which allow to convert audio cd files to wav files quickly.
