  1. I know that we have options to export to different aspect sizes and dimensions, but are we able to edit and view the sequence preview in the aspect to which we will be exporting the file? I've been working on a lot of 1:1 projects lately, and trying to adjust clips to how I expect the sequence to crop upon export is a little hit and miss.
  2. Thanks for confirming, Nat. I had suspected this might be the case, after I'd already started work on the project. It will be useful to remember, and perhaps use images for this purpose in future.
  3. Is there a way to replace a blank clip in a sequence with another clip, without manually removing it and restoring the transitions around it? I'm looking for something similar (potentially) to the 'Replace Clip File' available for other clips.
  4. So, from what Borate has suggested, to avoid confusion to your members, could you use the second Youtube option 'Add cards to your video' to replace the original video with a link to the new, revised version?
  5. I just tried to open two windows to have access to two projects at the same time. Is this possible? When I tried to open a second copy of VideoPad using Windows 10, it just brought the first window into context.
  6. Thanks again Borate. The Clip Preview window looks like it will come in very handy.
  7. Hi, I'm working with a very long piece of footage that I have cut down. I noticed today, when I try to drag it to extend it, I can only (easily) do so to the end of the visible sequence. When I drag to the right of the screen, the clip seems to just 'stop' there, and it doesn't seem possible to extend it. I've been able to get the desired effect by adding a 'placeholder' clip to Video Track 2, but is there an easier way to drag the clip end time and have the sequence end time extend with it? Thanks!
  8. Hi LenaM. I've used VideoPad to create videos intended to play on a loop on a DVD player in shopfronts. Were you wanting to create something like that? What medium are you exporting your project to?
  9. Thanks for the advice guys. I've had great success with DVDstyler, and am very proud of some of the projects I've made using it and VideoPad in conjunction. I've even read tutorials about add-ons to use DVDstyler to create Blu Ray discs, but they seem a little advanced for me. I might see what I can do with Express Burn as I search for other options.
  10. I wanted to reach out to the VideoPad community for some advice. I hope this is not inappropriate to discuss here. I've been using VideoPad to build my 'feature' project, then have been using DVDstyler to create custom menus to match the projects. I wondered if anyone was using other DVD authoring software that they could recommend, and also if anyone has recommendations for similar software for moving larger projects to Blu Ray (or at least getting some experience in doing so.) Thanks, and looking forward to hearing about your experiences or suggestions.
  11. Thanks for your help once again, Nat and Borate.
  12. Hi, I've just updated my version of VideoPad from about a year ago to version 8.06, and with it noticed a new launcher called NHC Suite and also that audio is being opened by a trial version of WavePad. Is it safe to remove these programmes without impacting my installation of VideoPad? Thanks!
  13. Thanks for the advice, Nationalsolo. You're a superstar, and have set me back on track.
  14. Hi all, I've just started a new project and have added a few transitions between video tracks one and two. The transitions are not appearing in the preview. As a test, I exported the project to the video file format I'll be using, which shows the transitions as expected, but I'd like to be able fine tune them in the project before exporting. I know it usually takes a moment to generate the transition preview, but I can't see that anything else is waiting to 'render,' and the rest of the preview is displaying correctly. Could I have changed a setting somewhere that is preventing the transitions from appearing in my sequence preview?
  15. Thanks NationalSolo. I should have explored a bit more before diving into major projects!
  16. I've been working on a similar project to Indiana Dave. Why am I suddenly having trouble cutting single video tracks at a time when they overlap like in the example image? Every time I try, I end up cutting at the same point in track one and two. I am sure there is a simple step I have missed here.
  17. Thanks for your help too, Nat. I have only recently started using VideoPad, so wouldn't have thought I was using a dramatically updated version now, but I do note I have only noticed the change since changing to a different computer and re-downloading the software, so it could well be the case. The Alt key fix serves my purposes at any rate.
  18. Thanks Borate! So simple. Do you know know why I was able to position the clips manually without needing to hold the 'Alt' key for previous projects? Is there a setting that can be used to make this the default placement method?
  19. Hi all, I've had a search through the forums and couldn't find the problem I am facing. It is a difficult one to describe, so it could be that I have just missed it. I've just started work on my second production using VideoPad. My first went very smoohtly. Now I have started my second, and I am working with a series of long video files that I am now splitting to arrange into two video tracks. The problem is that when I move the clips around the tracks, the software seems to automatically move the ends of each clip to each other to remove blank space. This wasn't happening in the last file I worked on - I was able to move clips leaving blank space without any problems. When I opened the previous file and used 'Save As' to create a new file, I am able to work the same way, leaving empty space in the timeline too, as I was in the previous file. Is there a setting somewhere that I have changed during the first file to stop this from happening? Thanks for your help!
