Install this version. Ignore any update or incompatibility warnings.
Load the project and again try to SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS.
If successful, upload it to the server and link it here.
How long is your project? What are the specs of your new PC?
Installed the version from the link, same thing happened. It got stuck on the second pop up, Backing Up Project Files. My computer is an HP 15, Intel Pentium Gold processor, 500 GB HD, 4 GB DDR4 memory. The project is a little over 24 minutes long.

There's obviously an issue, but it's not likely with Videopad. Have never come across an inability to Save a Portable Project As.
Assume you checked this out? https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/kb/1772.html
And did you perform a clean uninstall using the tool linked in my initial post? Then install the latest VP version.
Verify the hard disk integrity with the chkdsk command. http://tinyurl.com/y436geqk
I did the clean uninstall and reinstalled, v7.39 same as before. I did a chkdsk and no problems were found. The computer is maybe 90 days old so there shouldn't have been. No change.

@sandman88 I have transitions in mine too which I have always had since I started using VP over a year and a half ago. This is the first time I've had this problem. I can't even save project files so they can be looked at. It looks like a VP bug.

It's still showing the backing up project files box, and the progress bar has stopped.

I don't know how long this takes, but it's still stuck on the second backing up project files screen. It doesn't appear to be making any progress. The first one went through quickly.

As suggested, share the project and someone will take a look. We need the PORTABLE project files, not the export. Follow the steps in the above link.
If you haven't already done so, save the project. Close VP. Restart VP and click OPTIONS|DISK. Click the Clear Unused Cache Files button. Reload the project. Try another export.
I closed VP, restarted, cleared the unused cache files and reloaded the project. When I attempt to share the project using portable project files, it gets stuck on processing sound clips exactly the same as it does when trying to export.

To pin this down to a VP problem, or something on your PC, please share the project. It's easy, and can be done privately if the material is sensitive. Follow the steps here...

It does the same thing. It stays stuck on processing sound clips and won't export it.

I'm having the same problem. I have version 7.39 (free version) and am also running Windows 10 on a new computer. I have been using VideoPad for over a year and a half with no problems until now. When I try to export a video, it says "processing sound clips" which I have never seen it do before. It stays stuck on this literally all night. I have done everything sandman88 did trying to troubleshoot. The only thing I have done different in this video that I haven't done before is use the camera stabilization for the opening sequence. I wouldn't think that would stop exporting, or would it?

Two suggestions...
Share the project or a portion thereof, so someone can check it out.
Use low-res thumbnails when editing, as described above. When ready to export, replace those with the original video.

This has been an issue much longer than 2016. I have the version 6.24 and am having the same problem. The video segment I'm working on is only about ten minutes long. Letting it sit for about a half an hour until it completely loads doesn't solve the problem. Splitting all tracks will generate the building preview and stuttering of the video as well as adding six seconds of text. Leaving it alone for extended periods of time after any change doesn't solve the problem either. This problem makes the program virtually unusable. When exported, the video plays fine.
As long as this has been a problem, it appears to be a problem with VideoPad itself.
Videopad V7.39 can'T export video???

Yes, this is the first time I've ever had a problem. The intro which is only about one to one and a half minutes long does the same thing.
