  1. I received a .wpl file to transcribe and could not open it with ExpressScribe. A search revealed it's a long-time issue. None of the archived answers worked. Here is what I did: I used "docking" and "audio cable method." I opened the .wpl file with Windows Media player and started the ExpressScribe dock file. ExpressScribe recorded the the Windows Media Player output perfectly in real time then gave it a dock name/number. I was then able to transcribe it normally with ExpressScribe.
