  1. I came across this recently. If you have Nero installed on a PC and you set BurnRights to "Everyone" in Contol Panel, this will allow ALL users to copy CD tracks in Express Scribe. BUT, you don't have to buy Nero to get BurnRights - the software is available as a separate download free from: ftp://ftp6.nero.com/NeroBurnRightsInstaller.exe There's no licence agreement attached to the installer so I assume that there are no restrictions on its distribution. PLEASE let me know if you know otherwise. There's a help file included which has command line options, script options etc etc - all good stuff. We've been installing Nero as a service under the local system account for those poor souls without Admin rights which has worked okay until someone logs off as you need to reboot to get it to run again! Hope this helps! Irvin
  2. Dear All, We have a number of staff using Express Scribe who cannot load audio due to their limited user rights. To get around this, I have used Instsrv.exe & Srvany.exe from the W2K Resource Kit Tools to load Scribe.exe as a Service with Local System Account privilages. This works fine under W2K & XP. At boot-up, scribe.exe loads and standard users can access all of the app's functions. If they log-off or close the program they have to reboot to get these privilages back but at least it works... I've simplified the setup process by creating a batch file and a Reg file for distribution across my organisation. If anyone wants further info then post back and I'll be glad to send on the files that I used. CU Irvin
