  1. Hi, I own a transcription company and have the same problem. None of the people who work for me can get Vista to play their files. Windows does not include the codecs needed to play these files. Even if you get them from another source, get them installed and running, you still can't play the files you need. Some people are having some luck using "switch" to change the files but I have not had sucess with that. Mine still don't play and I have been trying for over a month. I hope the people at Express scribe can recognize that we need to play different kinds of files. .dss and .wav are the most widely used. They are files created by the big dictation systems such as the Orator by Bytescribe. It converts .vox to .wav and then they are downloaded to the transcriptionist. Jane
  2. I downloaded and installed this and immediately I could the files to play that were made with the little handheld recorders some of our clients use, however, I can't get the .wav files made by our Bytescribe Orator to play. I still get that same message saying the correct codecs are not installed. Any more suggestions? I love how part of them play now, feels like I am making progress. I can get them to play in media player but of course we need them to play with the Escribe pedal. We have been using it to play these .wav files to play with the escribe pedals for years without any problems so I know it can be done!
  3. I am hoping someone else may have a fix for this. Transcriptionists who work for me are having the same problem. We can't get the escribe pedal to play files in Vista. Is there an upgraded Escribe pedal software or something? Does anyone have a fix idea? Thanks!
  4. I am having the same problem. My escribe won't play files in Vista. It opens escribe perfectly then just sits there when you try to play the files! Can someone HELP?
