  1. 1. There are 4 Incoming CO lines connected to SohoPbx unit (these are the lines from the phone company) 2. I then hooked the 3 phones (2 lines each) in our office into the first 6 extension port on the SohoPBX. (Ext 601-607) 3. I hooked the USB CAHTA telephone card into four extensions on the Soho PBX (Ext 620,621,622 and 623) 4. I set the IVM to answer after 3 rings 5. I set one extension on each phone to ring on all incoming CO lines. 6. As for the extension connected to the CAHTA card, I only set one extension (620) to ring on incoming calls. THis way, if we dont pick up or if its after hours, it will pick up the call. I have ext 621,622 and 623 set to not ring on inciming calls. 7. I then set extension 620 to transfer the call to extension 621 if 620 is busy, then set 621 to transfer to 622 if 621 is busy, etc. This way, if someone is already leaving a voicemail, the next line on the CAHTA card will be activated. 8. To transfer a call to voicemail, i simply press "Transfer" on my phone and dial extension 620 and hang up. The person will hear music on hold whil the extension 620 rings (3 times), once the IVM software picks up the call, the music on hold quits and the person is in the voicemail system. It truly works wonderful.........
  2. Finally got the system I wanted after three years... i figured it out. Here is what I have 1. $250 IVM Software Enterprise 2 $300 Four Line USB CAHTA Card 4. $320 Soho-Pbx $870 TOTAL (I am using some 2 line RCA phones) I have four lines coming into my office. All the phones ring when any incoming line rings (i set my pbx for this), my assistant can monitor the calls and transfer them to me at my own extension or the voicemial (IVM) - during such a transfer, MUSIC ON HOLD PLAYS. My goal was to have a pbx that I could route calls throughout my office and have my voicemail sent me via email. If you got www.soho-pbx.com they have 1 CO line up to 8 CO line pbx's. I bought the 832 model with 8CO lines and 32 Ext. By the way, all of the extionsions can be set to ring on incoming calls and the caller id is passed to each extension even on transfers. I bought my soho-pbx from ebay and it came from China... I was worried, but after setting it up it works great. What is neat, is that my USB CAHTA card is plugged into Ext 615, 616,617 and 618. I have Ext 615 set to ring on incoming calls and the others (616-618) set not to ring. BUT if ext 615 is busy, it forwards the call to 616, if 616 is busy it fowards to 617 etc. So the IVM software wont get cofused if you set all four lines to ring at the same time... I have read this board for several years trying to accomplish this, finally i broke down and bought the pbx etc... it works great at a great price
  3. I am using a Dell CPU about two years old. I am using the IVM 3x (Small Business - 2 lines) version. I have 2 lines going into the callurl. Caller ID works perfect ... the tone detection works ok. Maybe 1 in 20 or so messages left will get cut off. However if you restart CPU, then all is fine. I get about 30-60 calls per day and we have 3 voicmail boxes set up for each partner in the firm. By the way, I had to call my credit card company to let me purchase the USB board.... since it was an overseas transaction. Just bought it today. Also, if you are interested, I may be willing to give you a deal on my current system as I wont need it anymore. SHoot me an email if interested... brianlvestal@yahoo.com
  4. I currently use a CallURL card and the 2 line software. I am updating to the softwar to the new version and needing 4 lines. I am going to puchase either the TELCTAUSB4 (USB) or the TELCTAS4 (PCI). I want the USB version .. has anybody used either of these boards and if so how do they work and what problems if any are there. Again feedback on the USB board would be great.
