  1. Hi iam selva i working towards to convert dss to wav file, please tell me the dss32.dll calling method my mail id is selva.sj@gmail.com

  2. I have been working with trying to implement Switch on Linux under WINE. It all works fine except for conversion from DSS format files. The WINE debug output shows it can not load WMVCORE2.DLL and CNS.DLL. This only happens when attempting DSS conversion. I loaded WMVCORE2.DLL and this error went away. I have no idea what CNS.DLL is and the only reference to it I can find is a Spyware implementation that is part of CNSMin. I'm confident this is not what dss32.DLL wants from WINE. When I look at dss32.dll, I find references to both WMVCORE2.DLL and CNS.DLL. However, when I installed Switch under Windows, neither of these DLLs were installed and DSS conversion works fine. I can only assume these are non-fatal errors and dss32.DLL uses them only if they are available. My assumption is that WINE may be indicating a failure to load dss32.DLL, preventing DSS conversion, when it fails to load CNS.DLL and Windows does not. If so, I can find out by having a copy of the CNS.DLL that dss32.DLL is looking for. If someone at NCH could please respond and let me know if a copy of this DLL can be made available, I would greatly appreciate it.
  3. I am running Switch under the latest version of WINE and everything works fine. I can run it using the GUI or from the command line just fine. However, I can't convert DSS files. When I try, the app says it can't open the file. The file dss32.dll is required for converting from DSS. I have looked in my WINE install and have found it is the only DLL in the system. I have configured a DLL override for dss32 as Native and even copied the dll to the Switch folder just to see if the program was having trouble finding it. There is no logging that I can find. WINE does not get any errors. I have no idea what the problem could be. I know this works under Windows. Does anyone have any suggestions? Could this be a WINE configuration problem? If so, what might it be? If it is an incompatibility between dss32.dll and WINE, is there a way to circumvent? I found a post saying Express Scribe works fine under WINE but it goes on to say dss32.exe is used to convert--not dss32.dll. Could my problem be resolved using dss32.exe?
  4. I noticed a note as to a "Run as Service" feature of Switch on the website but WavePad is the batch conversion workhorse product. Is there some way to run it as a service that will convert any files that show up in a folder? If not, will Switch do this? If not, do you have any solutions that will meet this task? If not, do you have any suggestions? Given there is such a solution, is it possible to run it under Linux with or without using WINE?
