I regularly record lectures on CD that last over an hour, eating up nearly the 700 MB limit of a CD. I can't record directly to .mp3 because of the equipment in the sound booth. I then bring the finalized CD home and edit the file using WavePad, which I've found is the best reasonably priced software out there for this purpose. I end up with one really long file. Is there any way to easily split the single .wav file into 5 to 10 shorter files?
I downloaded SLICE but it only works with .mp3 files, and I'm concerned about losing quality if I convert the .wav to .mp3 using SWITCH, split it using SLICE, then convert back to .wav. Is there an easier way than just picking a point in the file, saying "split into two," and renaming them and repeating that operation 5 times?
Thanks,
