  1. After a great deal of puzzling, I've added the '+' and country code as a prepend entry in the default dial plan in the Axon web control panel, for any calls routed to the 'Uplink Sip to Skype' line, and it works. It's a bit of a pity that such an important step is not included in the documentation. So: thanks very much to those in this forum who came up with the solution.

In skype, you can alway input "00" intead of "+"

There is no need for “added the '+' and country code as a prepend entry in the default dial plan in the Axon web control panel"

If you want to send "+61xxxxxxxxx" to skype, just dial "0061xxxxxxxxx".

  2. I'd similar problem while run the uplink in WinXP. Runnig Uplink in Win2k is okay. But I still can't use it because after the incoming call sent to my SIP client, the skype will drop the line by reason "sound device problem". In fact I can hear the first few word before the line was dropped. So the problem was my Skype (2.0x & 2.5) do not like device "uplink" as its sound device.

tried skype 2.6 and uplink, skype froze

2.5 and uplink have no such problem

  3. I didn't have this problem when I first installed Uplink and Axon a while ago. There was just the freezing problem.

I tried to give it another chance with the latest version.

I configured Axon and Skype according to the NCH suggestions http://www.nch.com.au/kb/10034.html

There is a usual phone connected to a Fritz!Box SIP adapter, that registers to Axon at extension 101.

If I call Skype test service, I can't hear anything. However, the phone's microphone seems to work. Because if I change the audio out device to standard in Skype, I can hear through my computer's speakers and I can record through my phone microphone on Skype test service.

I tried to record the call with the VRS that NCH offers, to find out if the problem might be somewhere between Axon and my SIP adapter. Interestingly, if the Skype audio out device is set to Uplink, I can record some seconds of voice from the other side-but then there is silence. I won't hear anything through the phone speaker the whole time.

If I set the Skype audio device to standard, the VRS will record the whole call and I can also hear everything through my PC speaker.

    Very strange behaviour.

I guess there is no solution to this by now. Maybe in a year there will be a working version. :)

But who knows. So if you can help, please tell me what I could try.

uplink works better with Asterisk. You may try Trixbox in VMware. Very fast.

  4. Someone could be so kind to post a complete working example how to configure Uplink and Asterisk?

I have tried it, but calling from Skype to Asterisk returns error: "Not Found" "Call has disconnected" on Uplink.

    Thanks a lot in advance!
