  1. Hi, I've tried to listen to a wav file saved from a Sanyo ICR B5000 through Express Scribe but it won't work. A window states 'Unable to open dct or wav file because audio compression codec is not installed on this computer. If the problem persists... (come to nch)' It seems to be an 8kHz 4bit wav file Sanyo tell me that wav files recorded on the b5000 can only be played back via their memoscriber software (unless they have been converted through the software to standard PCM or WMA files). Changing extension to .vox at least produced some garbled noise with a vague voice. Dropping the sample rate to 7333Hz produced more of the voice in the garble. dropping to 6kHz sent the voice Barry White. The file is for transcription so it has to be much clearer than I can manage by this route. Any suggestions much appreciated (I've been up all night with this and I'm getting a bit frazzzed!)
