Wavepad has been working normally for over a year. Now whenever I open a wave file about half of the file opens normally. The other half looks like a flat waveform. Listening to the file in this abnormal section, it sounds like an endlessly repeating glitch. This happens with every wave file I attempt to open.

I recently downloaded a program called Wave Repair for the purpose of detecting peak clipping in my wave files. Since then I have had unusual results making volume adjustments to wave files using wavepad. Some files don't seem to respond at all to volume adjustment while others respond too much. I am starting to get a sneaking suspicion that some adjustments I'm making to one file are actually being registered in another file. The other day I modified a couple wave files and when I played them back one file had the other song in it!!! Has anyone ever heard of this before?
