Thank you so much for trying to help. I followed your advice, turned on Real Speed; however, I couldnt understand what you meant by checking that the fast forward and rewind buttons arent lighting up when I press play pedal. Would you mind telling me where they are? The speed switch on the desktop of ES is not working. I can switch it to maximum speed or minimum speed and its all the same, people speaking at twice normal speed. Can you think of anything else it could be?

I have just transferred over to Express Scribe, latest version, from Olympus and installed a new Phillips foot pedal. I've loaded the drivers on and the foot pedal is working. I had to change over the three keys to suit myself so 1 is now rewind, 2 is fast forward and 3 is play. That seems to be okay. I have set the little black switch under the foot pedal to neutral. HOWEVER, I cannot adjust the speed of play and the voices sound slightly garbled although I can tell what they're saying. I know the speed of play is at bottom of ES screen but doesnt work. It DID but since I have been trying all the new switches to get used to them, it now doesnt. I have a job to finish and I am getting a bit desperate as the supplier I bought the foot pedal off is not available today unfortunately. Can anyone help me? Thank you very much if you can Del
