  1. Just to close this thread, I did figure it out, and the instructions in the link above were the answer. What I was not doing is this: The box that says "Always open with this program" (something like this), must be checked. I had it unchecked.
  2. Another note - not sure it matters, my version of ES is 4.36.
  3. I have already followed those instructions given at the link above to no avail. Well, specifically, I changed WAV files to default of Express Scribe. I'm assuming this was correct? I think I misspoke. When I used went to listen to a voice file, WMP comes up instead of Express Scribe is more accurate.
  4. I have searched the forum for the answer to this - I was able to find one that sounded like it might have an answer, but the information was not posted, rather, someone was emailed with the answer. I'm brand new to Express Scribe and to this forum - I have not been able to successfully use ES yet. I'm a medical transcriptionist. When I had a voice file and opened it with ES, it defaulted to Windows Media Player, and of course I was not able to use my foot pedal, etc. to hear the voice file. I have attempted to make various changes via my computer, tools, file types, etc., to no avail. I tried to change settings in WMP to no avail. Obviously there is a setting somewhere that I cannot find. Thank you for any help.
