Problem fixed!!! Very easy solution. Some newer sound cards have a sound enhancement features which must be disabled to playback the digital audio files correctly. If you are on Vista try right clicking on the bottom right of your computer. Click on playback devices. Click on speakers and dual headphones. Click on properties. Click on on enhancements. Check the box that says, "Disable all enhancements". Select apply. Voila!

I purchased a new computer and unable to understand audio on Express Scribe. I have not downloaded any new audio, can't even get the "Welcome to Express Scribe" file to work. Very garbled, cant understand. The foot pedal works fine. Here are some of the specs on my computer. If anyone has any info to make this work I would truly appreciate it. I am very behind on my transcription because of this. Vista 6.0, service pack 1, 32 bit Idt High Definition Audio CODEC NVIDIA High Definition Audio Really need this to work. I can understand the files on my xp computer but not on my new HP. Thanks
