  1. Okay, I gave up on using Express Scribe on the Mac, and put everything on my PC (I don't have a digital foot pedal yet - it's on its way). So, I can play my Real Player file (.rm) in Express Scribe, and control the audio with the hot keys (start, stop, rewind, etc.)... But, I don't see the video, only hear the audio. I need to see the video as well, so I can see the burned in time code on the video file. I thought Express Scribe hot keys are supposed to control the playback in the Real Player as well. Otherwise... what is the purpose of Express Scribe; I don't get it. Sorry if this is a lame question. Thanks for your help!
  2. Okay, I am brand new to Express Scribe... but not transcription. • I received a Real Player video file (.rm) and Express Scribe for Mac (v 4.30 PPC). I am on OSX 10.4.11. • I have Real Player 10.1.0 installed (and the .rm file plays fine in the program). I received the following instructions for using Express Scribe: You will need to set the file association to (.rm & .rma) in the setting menu to work with Real Media files. Okay... I can't figure out how to "set the file association"... I've searched the menus and the help file... And, the closest I can come is the following menu progress: SCRIBE-->PREFERENCES-->Select INCOMING tab--->Click ADD--->Select File Copy ...and once there... on the bottom right is a list of only four file types: dct wav mp3 aif which can be checked. There is no option to check -- or add -- .rm or .rma file type So... How do I load Real Player files into Express Scribe??? Thanks for any help! ~FF~
