based on the same bit rates, which sound file "Sounds" better?

I am trying to find out anything I can on the MOD file type. Does this offer some special compression? How can these files be created? Thanks!

I am working on converting various MP3, WMA, WAV files etc for use in an Mobile Phone Based program (UltraMP3 - lonely cat games). The program is working great, and I give it "Two Thumbs Up!" My question/problem is this... I only have limited storage capacity using the memory card on the phone, so I am trying to figure out what the best possible method of preparing my files would be. I would really appreciate suggestions on what file type / extension I should use, as well as the compression rates. Thanks!
