I ran into this same problem, I think it's probably just a case of not being able to find the file (assuming you still have it listed the Golden Records Window). After checking my options to see where the Temporary Recording Folder was, and where the Recording Output Folder was, I went to those folders and saw nothing. I then highlighted the name I gave the file and, using XP, went to Start > Search > All files and folders > "filename.mp3" > Look in All Hard Drives - and found the file in a hidden folder C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\NCH Swift Sound\Golden\filename.mp3
Doesn't seem to be control where split files are stored, but this is most likely where you'll find them.
Unfortunately, searching through my entire hard drive yielded nothing. However, after manually looking through folders and through the program menu, I figured out where they were stored in a much easier way. Just go to view > view recordings folder and I was automatically directed to the hidden folder you mentioned above, where I found all the split files I just created.
But thanks anyway for your help!

Hi,
I'm a new Golden Records user and I just started converting my cassettes to mp3s. I converted one entire side of a cassette and then split the songs afterwards, but only the original unsplit file was saved to my hard drive. How can I get the split files each containing an individual, complete song to be saved on my hard drive so that I can later listen to it on my computer's default media player? (I use iTunes).
Thanks in advance.
Golden newbie: it's recording but I can't hear it

That's not true -- the reason why you can't listen while recording is because the "line in" volume is set to mute. Unmute it and you'll be able to hear everything.
