  1. I have just registered Switch, version 1.50. I have a standalone QNAP server to which I have been ripping my CD's (2913 so far baby - talk about tedious) which I then access and play with a Linn DS song file player. I am ripping them to Flac files. I have full permissions on all the computers on my LAN and this NAS. I am using the Vista OS. When I try to convert a folder of flac files to mp3 files, retaining the folder structure, into a separate folder on the NAS, or any other computer on my LAN I get the "Could not create the destination folder" error message. If I perform the same operation and choose to have the files converted and written to my local hard drive, retaining the directory structure, using exactly the same set of instructions that caused the error message, as above, I have no difficulties. The files appear as mp3 files, and the directory structure has been retained. Why can I not perform exactly the same operation and convert these flac files to mp3's, directing the write of converted files to a drive which is NOT local (my NAS, where there is an abundance of free space, or to another computer on my LAN)? More importantly, what is the solution? I do not want to convert all of these files onto my local hard drive and them copy them all back to my server. And FYI - I can direct the flac --> mp3 files to a directory of the same name on my NAS or another hard drive on my LAN if I create the directory first and forgo the "Copy folder structure of source files" option, which is an easy enough work around if I'm only converting one directory at a time. But I'd like to option of loading several (many, actually) folders into the "List of files to convert" and then walking away to leave the program to its business. I hope you can help me out. Thank you.
