  1. Run IVM as a service

If access to computer is done via Remote Desktop | Microsoft Terminal Server-Service, select the advanced option of 'Leave audio at remote computer' prior to connecting.

Configure Automatic Updates to "Notify When Updates Avail - Do Not Install"

-This prevents un-healthy modem driver / firmware updates to occure

without knowledge of possible driver change / conflict.

Hoping someone can help me with this question.

This weekend, our IVM software just stopped playing our outgoing messages. When someone calls, you don't hear anaything, and then it hangs up. Yet, when I go in to the OGM menu, it clearly states which outgoing message should be played. When you click on the "play message" button, nothing is heard. However, when I go to the file on the computer where the message is kept, and I run it from there, the message plays fine.

Help from anyone would be greatly appreciated!

  2. If the following suggestions from the other members of this forum did not resolve, continue

Uninstall IVM application via Control Panel - Add or Remove Programs

    Run 'regedit'

    Expand "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\NCH Swift Sound"

    Delete Key "IVM"

    Do same for

    Expand "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\..."

    Expand "HKEY_USERS\..."

Open My Computer; ensure 'Tools - Folder Options' is configured to view hidden files and folders. Go to the following

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\

    Delete NCH Swift Sound

    C:\Program Files\NCH Swift Sound\

Delete IVM folder & Components folder

Reboot computer; install desired version of IVM; Register; Load IVR Program File Backup if avail.

We purchased an Enterprise version of this software and are having a horrible time. We replaced our version 3.05 with the trial version of 3.07 - but that didn't solve our problems. When we went back to 3.05 our registration info comes up as "Expired or Invalid"

We can't reach anyone at NCH, and our emails are going unanswered. We need help big time.  :(  Is this lack of support a common problem?

  3. Work around/Solution: Before starting the RDP session, click on the 'Local Resources' tab within the RDP client. One of the options is for 'Remote Computer Sound' -Select 'Leave at remote computer'

    Click Connect and RDP away!

    Hi everyone,

I have tested several Answering software out there, top find IVM to my liking. After several days of testing, i  finally bought it to be a simple answering machine for my appartement.

Now after buying it, i start getting problems, the line is picked up and the message doesn't play anymore... and when i check the logs it says it played the message and hung up because it was silent after...

After DAYS of diagnostics and driver updating i found the problem... Really simple...

I connect regularly to my computer using remote Desktop conection from work to check things from time to time... and well when connecting using this, it opens a session and changes the input/output devices to send the sound to the computer i access it from. It also seems that IVM cannot see the modem when connected in RDP. So when i disconnect.. it keeps the setting to answer line 1 with "nothing" so it checks nothing at all.  So i had to switch to VNC to correct the problem.. now everything works fine.. !

Thought i'd let you guys know,

It may be a known issue or not i dunno but hey, have a nice day

    Marc

  4. :) Transfer's from IVM back into the "Merlin" ksu/pbx were failing, the pbx was not detecting switch hook / DTMF tones. Do not configure the analog port for a data device because this prevents all "short codes" from being accepted in addition to preventing call waiting. Set analog port to voice. All Lucent/Avaya systems use short codes to perform desired action, on Merlin/Legend/Magix #55 is the same as pressing the 'Transfer' button on a key telephone. Thus to perform a transfer IVM does a ,#55, + Extn. I.e. ,#55,500 - Transfer to Oper @ x500.

Other misc short codes #00 - programming, #58 - Hold, #* - Pickup Held Call, #54 - Turn off Voicemail Light, #50 - Recall (flash hook on outbound line -PSTN),

All short codes on the IP Office PBXs can be customized. I have found that regardless of IVM, a transfer via a short code works better than flash hook signaling.

    Hope this helps somebody.
