  1. Sorry I'm just getting back to this thread. I thought I had it set to "notify" me if there was a response but I guess not. No, I'm not an MT, I used to be many years ago but now I'm GT and mostly legal. Occasionally I need specific ES answers so I signed up here last year but I normally "hang out" at TE (www.transcriptionessentials.com). Whatacrock, most of my problems seem to have been solved with the installation of 5.0. However, the audio still doesn't stop every single time I lift my foot from the pedal. But it's so much better than 4.37 that I'm a very happy camper now. Hope that's the solution for you too!!
  2. I added a reply in the "tap lock" thread and also sent a note to ES support. So far I have received no replies at all. I searched around a bit the other night to see if there is a place we can safely download the previous version of ES but didn't have time to really invest in the research. I'll check again as soon as I catch up on my work. This foot pedal problem really slows production. I certainly hope this thread produces a response, we can't be the only ones experiencing these problems . . . can we?
  3. I am having the same problem - the foot pedal is unresponsive. I do not have the tap lock engaged. Often, when I release the pedal, the audio continues. Sometimes, when I engage the pedal, the audio does not start. The pedal malfunctions more often than it functions properly. This started after installation of 4.37. OS - Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 (build 2600) Install Language: English (United States) System Locale: English (United States) RAM - 1.93 PROCESSOR: 1.80 gigahertz AMD Sempron 128 kilobyte primary memory cache 256 kilobyte secondary memory cache Not hyper-threaded
  4. I just downloaded the newest version of ES. I am having the same problem as Jen. The instruction (from NCHCC) works to a certain extent in that now I can lift my foot and the audio stops. However, in the previous version of ES, I was able to have the "quick tap" to start and stop the audio without giving up the other feature. In other words, I could put my foot down and hold it to listen then pick my foot up and the audio would stop. I could also do the quick tap to start and stop the audio. Does the newer version of the software no longer have both functions available at the same time? I'm afraid I got spoiled - I've been using it that way for years and I'm a very old dog to learn a new trick. Thanks for any help anyone can give! Madeline
