  1. Yes, that's the page. I did try SMTP, and that did generate a new send box; I could see the "sending" progression bar, but the bar ran very fast. (The recipient did not get it and it wasn't in my "sent" box.)
  2. MAPI, SMTP, and default reply email checked. User name is grayed out, won't let me type it in even if I wanted to (but shouldn't matter anyway?) My virus software does not even scan outgoing email. My Outlook Express works fine sending without Scribe. (I have XP, OUTLOOK 2000, IE 7, ES 4.23) When I keep trying different combinations of using Outlook and Outlook Express together or separately, one of two things happens: 1. When I click on ES dispatch, nothing at all happens but that dispatch box vibrates a little. 2. I will get the second "send" box but then the message: "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the message request. Please run Microsoft Outlook." Then when I click send, that box jumps back to the original dispatch box. I tried putting Outlook in as my default email client. Could you tell me exactly where it is that I put it in? I did choose it in the Internet/tools/options/programs place. Is there another place to put it? There's one place where it says "make your default" but it's grayed out. Does that mean I HAVE to use Microsoft Outlook instead of Express? I will if I have to. I also read on your site where there are problems sending with Outlook and that I could use Eudora or Outlook (*). What does that asterisk by Outlook refer to? I couldn't find the *. I think I already have Eudora, but should I download the latest version and if I do will that conflict with Outlook? It sounds like I'm not setting up my Outlook or Outlook Express or both correctly, and if I could just get any combination of outlook set up "for Scribe" .... Please, if you are kind enough to help me, if you could tell me which box (internet, express, outlook, dispatch etc.) to go to FIRST before I start clicking in case it is ambiguous. Thank you.
  3. I have not been able to dispatch back the dictation with the Word doc. (receiving is fine). I get a message that says: "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the message request. Please use Microsoft Outlook." A couple of techs told me that I should have no account set up in Outlook if I just want to run Express but it seems to me that 2000 makes you use Outlook whether you want to or not, that you have to import/export from Express to Outlook. Before, my completed jobs were being diverted to Outlook and I thought there was something wrong, but in my reading it sounded like that could be an import/export thing? When I hit dispatch now, the screen stops right there, and if I keep hitting "dispatch," I can see an empty box with a headline that says "sending email" but it's a ghost box and nothing goes nowhere. Could someone please help me set up up my outlook/outlook express correctly if I have to use both. I would like to just use Express but don't think that's possible?
  4. - - - - Thing is, I sent one job that went through just fine but the second one "disappeared." I looked for the second one and, on a hunch, found it in Microsoft Outlook outbox which I don't even use (I use Outlook Xpress). I don't why or how it got diverted to Outlook. I did get an automatic message saying that to free up disk space, the computer god could COMPACT (the word it used) something and I said yes, and my emails got compacted but I thought I had plenty of disk space. Do emails have their own disk space separate from the whole computer anyway? I succesffully sent an email in outlook xpress with a word attachment that went through fine. Please don't go away. If you could tell me about the disk space and how to shut down Microsoft Outlook, maybe that would fix it or be a good place to start?
  5. "All" the settings? Isn't there only one, MAPI or SMTP? Since it was working before, I left it where it was, although I did try going from MAPI to SMTP. What should the settings be? I use Outlook Express. Thank you so much.
  6. I downloaded v4.23 when I got an XP computer and am now having a problem dispatching my Word docs: They are not sending. The last thing I tick on is "dispatch," and then the dictation disappears to "Done," the screen clears out, but the recipient gets nothing. I have XP. Before, I had 2000 and an older ES version which worked great together. Thank you for helping me get back to work.
  7. In the Express Scribe main window, hit SETTINGS, then PLAYBACK SETTINGS. You'll see, about halfway down, it says: Auto Backspace on Stop and it'll be on 0. Well, then you hit the up arrow as much as you want up to 5000 mss. The higher that number, the more the dictation will repeat. I have mine on 850 right now and it goes back a syllable or two. Is that what you asked?
  8. I read that typing in the notes section of the main Express Scribe window is no substitute for a word processor. I am assuming that the reason for that is because a word processing document could be lengthy and/or needing the many functions that come with a word processor. Is that the reason? Could one type a, say, 15-minute dictation in the notes section successfully? Does anyone know how many minutes could be typed into the notes section? Thank you
