  1. What’s with the “Express Burn Software”??? From what I’ve read, it seems like everyone is having about the same problems. And it looks like these problems still exist, no matter what version you’re using. I had been using 4.08 myself. I could burn a Data DVD using the UDF File system with no problem, and had been able to view the DVD afterwards. Now when I try to use it, a window pops up reading: “Express Burn has crashed because of an abnormal exception”. When I try to burn using “ISO+Joliet” File system, everything seems fine and it tells me the burn was successful and I can now use the Disc. Well, when you try to view it contents, it’s “Blank”!!! I’ve also tried the other versions that they offer: 4.09, 4.12 & 4.14. and haven’t had any luck with any of them. They seem to have issues also. I can’t even get the above versions to burn anything, Audio, Data, etc. Every time I try, it tells me the Disc isn’t blank and to erase it. So I’ll erase it, (even though I know it’s blank) and it takes forever to finish. Then when it final does and I try to re-burn another copy, the same thing happens: “a window opens telling me the Disc isn’t blank, to erase it”. I GIVE UP!!! For software that seems so easy to use, I mean, every thing is there for you: “Audio CD, Data CD, Data DVD, Video DVD etc.”, why won’t it work properly??? Now the simple question: “How come they can’t work the flaws or bugs out of a version, so we all can use and enjoy it”??? I’ve paid for Express Burn Plus myself, and I know many others have also, and I sorry now that I ever purchased it. Had I known it had worked like it has, no matter how appealing or easy it had seemed to be, I would have passed on it. And I hate to say it, but it doesn’t look like a “quick fix” is coming in the near future.
  2. After purchasing Express Burn, didn’t they send you: “Registration Details” for activating your software via E-mail? If not, then they should have!!! If they did, then to register your software, click on the “File” tab in the left hand corner, and from the dropdown list select “Register Software”. Then you have to fill in the appropriate boxes listed. “You must enter the details exactly as they were sent to you”. Then click O.K. Your software should now be registered and available for you to use. If you have done the above, then just keep posting until you get an answer. Good Luck!
  3. I’d do a search on: “Google”. Type in the specific version you’re looking for, and see what results come up. Hopefully you’ll be able to locate an earlier version.
  4. This could be true, but on the other hand, we’re all not using the same drives. Some are using a: CD Writer, while others a: DVD Writer. From Pioneer to Samsung to whatever, the list goes on and on. Why we’re having this problem, has me mystified? And to make it even more complex is to burn a CD/DVD successfully on your system, then to view its content and the Disc appears to be “blank”. Then to take that Disc and insert it into another burner and it plays, has me scratching my head!!!
  5. I’m glad to hear that version 4.09 has been working for you. On my side: “Nada”!!! Oh sure, I can burn a CD-R & CD-RW, but when it comes to DVD’s, “Geeeezzzzzz”: one headache after another. I’ll insert a brand new blank DVD and it tells me: “The inserted Disk is not empty. To erase it, select the option: “Erase Rewritables if they are not blank” and try again. Then it takes a good 5 or 6 minutes to erase the Disk before it tells me, “The Disk has been successfully erased”. So I’ll try again, and it’s the same thing all over. And it doesn’t matter if I select ISO+Joliet or UDF, there’s no change, so I uninstalled 4.09 and reinstalled 4.08. At least with 4.08, I can make a Data DVD with the UDF file system that plays on my PC. I can also make audio CD’s with no problem.
  6. To make an Audio CD from Mp3’s, do the following: 1. Click on Audio CD at the top of the page and make sure that it’s highlighted. 2. Click on Add File 3. From the dropdown list in: “Look In”, click on your © Drive. 4. Go through your folders and click on the folder that contains the songs you’d like to burn to CD. 5. Highlight all the songs you’d like to copy, then click on "Open". “To add all the songs at once, highlight the first song, hold down the shift key and highlight the last song, then click on "Open". 6. Click on Burn CD. 7. Set you preferences: Burner Drive, Burn speed etc. 8. Click O.K. 9. The Disk should burn for you. “For an Audio Music CD, you’re better off using a CD-R Disk”.
  7. Well I did a complete fresh reinstall of 4.09. Now it lets me Create and Burn and ISO Image, Verifies the Burn and even tells me the Disk has been successfully created. But when I go to look at the Disk and the contents on it, “ITS BLANK”!!! I give up. No matter what the situation is or what DVD Disk I use, it tells me the Disk is not empty; to erase it. And when I do, it takes at least 5 or more minutes to completely erase a "blank" Disk. God, how long would it take to erase a Disk that really has data on it?????
  8. I can burn a Data CD-R and a Data CD-RW with no problem, but “nothing” when it comes to Data DVD’s. No matter what I try, I get the same message: “The inserted Disk is not empty. To erase it, select the option “Erase Rewritables if they are not blank” and try again”!!! Looks like I'm going to have to uninstall 4.09 and reinstall 4.08. With 4.08 I could at least burn Data DVD's using the UDF file system. With 4.09: "Nothing"!!!
  9. Well I installed the 4.09 upgrade , and I’m still having problems. I wanted to try and burn a Data DVD to see how the newer version works. Well I inserted a brand new DVD-RW into my burner: Pioneer DVD/CD Writer DVR-710, And it tells me *the inserted Disk is not empty. To erase it, select the option “Erase Rewritables if they are not blank” and try again*. Though the disk hadn’t anything on it and I knew it was blank, I did as it asked. After about 5 minutes had passed, a window pops up telling me: “The Disk has been successfully erased”. O.K. so I go about it again making sure: Data DVD is highlighted and that ISO+Joilet file system is selected. I click on Add Folder, and select the folder that I’d like to copy and then click on Burn DVD. A window opens: “Burn ISO+Joilet DVD and I make sure everything is correct and then click O.K". Then the same message pops up: *the inserted Disk is not empty. To erase it, select the option “Erase Rewritables if they are not blank” and try again*. I tried this three times with the same Disk and I get the same message each time. So I ejected the Disk and tried another, figuring maybe something was wrong with the Disk. It did the “same thing” with the other Disk, so now what do I do?????? My O.S. is XP home Edition, and my Burner is listed above.
  10. Thanks! I'll do as you have suggested.
  11. The reason I ask this is when I had the Free Version of Express Rip installed, I would get a message ever few weeks that the trial offer was ready to expire. When I contacted NCH about this, they gave me a new Url to download the software, but told me to first uninstall it, then reinstall it. Sometimes you can install an upgrade over an older version, then again sometimes conflicts may arise, and they tell you to uninstall it first.
  12. I’ve purchased Express Burn Plus 4.08 last month. To upgrade to the newer version: 4.09, do you just install it over the older version, or do you have to uninstall 4.08 first, then reinstall the new version? The reason I ask is that some programs let you install over the older version, where others require you to uninstall the older version first. Thanks for the help.
  13. I just noticed something. I’m using version 4.08. When I look at the upgrade it reads: Version 4.08 Windows Upgrade Release: Fixed bug under Windows XP where it could crash with an access violation in asycfilt.dll fix Uploaded 2008-03-26 Now I’m scratching my head. For starters, I downloaded the program in May after they supposedly uploaded the fix above. Maybe I’m wrong but if you’re using 4.08, I really don’t see anything that will correct our problems!!!
  14. I’ve been checking daily to see if there’s a new, updated version of: “Express Burn”. Today, I see that there is. Hopefully it will correct the problems we’ve been having.
